ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Amanda Lovato has a number of impressive triathlete accomplishments under her belt, dating back to high school where she was awarded with a full athletic scholarship to Old Dominion University, where she also excelled in track. Throughout the years, Amanda has won a number of titles, including USA Triathlon All-American, multiple Half Ironman wins and Duathlon National Champion.
Amanda wanted a website that showcased all of her accomplishments and that allowed her to share them with her fans. Presshive partnered with Rev3 to develop a site for Amanda that met every one of her needs – and then some. Presshive built her site on a WordPress CMS platform, with all elements of her website being easily editable by the client.
The pink butterfly theme was built by REV3 based on existing direction from the client. Amanda Lovato’s design carries the natural curvatures of her butterfly logo throughout in the website’s design. By using these curves, it helps define regions for content and sidebar areas that began building blocks for the templates within a WordPress theme.
Key features of the site were an archivable upcoming event schedule and past race results pages, using custom fields for specific information such as event website, location, final time and overall ranking for each event. Sponsors were also created as a custom plug-in allowing each sponsor to have custom images for either the site template sidebar or on the sponsor page itself. That combined with custom fields allowing the company url hyperlink for more info for interested visitors. Amanda, as most triathletes, travels frequently and enjoys sharing her experiences online with fans. Presshive delivered a Flickr powered gallery through the use of their API, allowing images and image sets to be synced to her WordPress website automatically. Twitter’s API was also utilized to pull in the most recent tweet posts into her WordPress themed template.
